Description

Real estate, unknown dates. These fifteen black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using at least ten different individual film rolls, so many of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated one or more times. For the purposes of this description, these film strips will be grouped according to which film roll they appear to have originally come from, and each of these groups will be assigned a lower-case letter. These lower-case letters will be combined with the images' physical numbers (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. All of these images show exterior shots of houses and apartment buidlings, most of which have real estate signs in the front yard or hanging from the house. Image 10a shows a single-storey home with an attached garage on the right-hand side. The house has a screen door, a plant hanging outside the front window, and a hatchback car parked in the driveway. The street number for the home appears to be 1961. Images 11a and 12a are nearly identical to image 10a. Image 13a shows a two-storey building that appears to be a portion of an apartment complex. There are doorways or storage units on the first floor which are designated as "A1," "A2" and "A3." Images 14a and 15a are nearly identical to image 13a. Image 16a shows a single-storey home with a gable facing forward from the front center of the house. There is a car parked in the driveway which has a decal at the center bottom of the back window which reads "CHEVELLE." A lightpost and a metal trashcan are visible near the right-hand edge of the image. Images 17a and 18a are nearly identical to image 16a. Image 19a shows a single-storey home with an attached garage at the left-hand side of the house. There is a chainlink fence around the home, a wheelbarrow in the yard, and a mailbox partially visible at the right-hand edge of the image. The visible part of the number of the mailbox is "500." There are two Lacey Realty signs hanging on the house. Image 17b shows a split-level home with an attached two-car garage in the first-floor section of the house at the right-hand side. There is a wrought-iron handrail on the staircase leading to the front door, and a lightpost next to the staircase. The house has a short brick chimney with a skylight next to it. There is an Evergreen Olympic Real Estate sign in the front yard. Images 18b and 19b are nearly identical to image 17b. Image 20b shows a single-storey home with a very deep attached garage at the left-hand side of the house. The house has a brick facade surrounding the double front door. Image 34c shows a single-storey home with an attached garage at the right-hand side of the house. The center section of the front of the house has a brick facade and a covered walkway/porch.
