Timberline track, unknown dates. These six black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a girls' high school track meet between the Timberline Blazers and the Centralia Tigers, and a boys' high school track meet between the Timberline Blazers and the Tumwater T-Birds. Image 2 shows four young women participating in a hurdles race. There is a female spectator visible on the inner edge of the track jumping as she watches the race. Image 3 shows two young women participating in a hurdles race. There is a young woman visible yelling at the left edge of the image. Image 4 shows three young women participating in a relay race. Two of the young women are passing the baton, and the third girl is at the left-hand side of the image passing a baton to someone outside of the image frame. Image 5 shows four young women participating in a relay race. There is a young woman partially visible running at the left edge of the image, and another young woman near the center of the image that appears to be stumbling. Image 6 shows five young women in a race. The rightmost young woman is either crossing the finish line or very nearly so. Image 7 shows six young women preparing to begin a race. Five of the young women are down in a starting stance, and the sixth young woman (who is closest to the camera), has already started running. Image 8 shows a young woman participating in a high jump. She appears to be wearing cutoff jeans, and there is a young man in a sweatshirt standing toward the right side of the image. Image 9 shows approximately 6 young women participating in a race. The young woman in the third lane from the left is in the lead. Image 10 shows three young men participating in a hurdles race. The young man in the lead is in the lane fourth from the left, and he is wearing a Tumwater jersey. Image 11 shows a young man participating in the pole valult. He is wearing a headband and facing away fromt the camera. Image 12 shows a young man participating in the shotput. He is wearing a Timberline jersey, and the thrown shotput is partially visible at the top edge of the image. Image 13 shows five young men just coming out of their starting stances to begin a race. Their are two young men in Tumwater jerseys standing behind the runners and toward the left side of the image. Image 14 shows five young men participating in a race. The young man in the fourth lane from the left is crossing the finish line, and is wearing a Tumwater jersey. Image 15 shows is nearly identical to image 11. Image16 shows a young man in a Timberline jersey participating in the long jump. The young man is in mid-jump. He is pushing his chest forward and his left leg is bent at the knee and kicked out behind him. Image 17 shows a different young man in a Timberline jersey participating in the long jump. He is in mid-jump, and his arms ar bent at the elbow and pointed up in the air. Image18 shows a young man in a Timberline Track sweatshirt having just released a discus. There are three other young men visible to the left of the discus thrower, and a jacket or other clothing item laying on the ground at the bottom left corner of the image. Image 19 shows approximately eight young men participating in a foot race. Two of the young men are leading the others by a wide margin. The young man in the lead on the left is wearing a Tumwater jersey and the one on the right is wearing a Timberline jersey. Image 20 shows a young man participating in the high jump. He is wearing a jacket and matching pants, but no insignia or logo is visible. His face is turned toward the camera, and his hands are held close together. Image 21 shows a different young man participating in the high jump. He is wearing a Timberline Blazers sweatshirt, and his face is turned away from the camera. There is a second young man approaching from the right-hand side of the image. Image 22 shows two young men in Timberline jerseys running and passing a baton between them. The young man in front is reaching back for the baton, but is not taking hold of it. Image 23 shows two different young men in Timberline jerseys running and making a baton hand-off. The young man in front is wearing a shirt under the jersey whichh reads "TOP EVENT MAN" near the collar. Image 24 shows a large number of young people standing or sitting on the ground near a rack with approximately six pole vaults leaned against it. Image 25 shows a young man in a Tumwater jersey crossing the finish line in a foot race. There are five other young men running in the race, but they are all well behind the young man crossing the finish line. Image 26 shows three young men participating in a hurdles race. The young man closest to the camera is only partially in the image frame at the left. The young man in secnd place is wearing a Timberline jersey, and the young man in third is wearing a Tumwater jersey. Image 27 shows a young man jumpng over a hurdle. He is wearing a Timberline jersey and his undershirt reads "TOP EVENT MAN" near the collar.
Printed in alternation along one edge of each of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
