Football, unknown dates. These fifteen black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using six different film rolls, so many of the images' physical numbers are duplicated one or more times. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to which film roll they originally came from. Each group will be assigned a lower case letter to go along with the images' physical numbers (ex: 1a, 2a, 3z, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show a football game between the North Thurston Rams and an unknown team with feather logos on their helmets. Image 7a shows a North Thurston player running the ball and headed toward the left-hand side of the image. A referee is at the right-hand side of the image, and player 42 for the unknown team is at the left-hand side of the image. Image 8a shows a player for North Thurston being tackled. There is a person at the right-hand side of the image wearing a stocking cap and jacket and holding a football. Number 31 for North Thurston is the player furthest toward the left in the image. Image 9a shows the ball hanging in the air in the upper center of the image. Number 11 for North Thurston is waiting to receive the ball while number 20 for the unknown team tries to tackle him. Image 10a shows many players running around the field and looking toward the left-hand side of the image. Players 43 and 21 for North Thurston are at the center of the image. Image 11a shows many players on the ground. A referee is at the center of the image and running away from the camera. Image 12a shows a North Thurston with a jersey number starting in 4 running the ball while three players from the unknown team try to drag him down. Player 86 for the unknown team is the player furthest toward the left side of the image. Image 13a shows a player from one of the teams being tackled in the distance. There are referees at both the right and left sides of the images running toward the area of the tackle. One bank of stadium lights are visible at the top left corner of the image. Image 14a shows the aftermath of a tackle. A referee with his arms up is at the left side of the image and player 33 for the unknown team is at the center of the image olding up one arm. Image 15a shows a player for the unknown team being tackled. Player 86 for the unknown team is facing away from the camera at the left-hand edge of the image. Image 16a shows a player from the unknown team with a jersey number starting in 4 being pulled down by the jersey by a North Thurston player. There is a referee near the bottom left corner of the image, and another referee near the right-hand edge of the image. Image 17a shows a tangle of players with at least one player on the ground. Player 55 for North Thurston is facing away from the camera at the center of the image. The images in group "b" show a high school football game between the Tumwater T-Birds and an unknown team. The game appears to have taken place at the Timberline football field. Image 4b shows a Tumwater player down on the ground and holding the ball. A player for the unknown team is falling down on top of the Tumwater player. Image 5b shows a Tumwater player being tackled. Visible in the bottom foreground of the image are the head and right shoulder of a person wearing a stocking cap and holding a camera or light used for photography. There are two other photographers or videographers at the right-hand side of the image. Image 6a is so underexposed that it is effectively blank. Image 7b shows player 40 for the unknown team carrying the ball as a Tumwater player attempts to tackle him from behind. Image 8b shows player 45 for Tumwater running the ball. A referee's left arm and the side of his face are visible at the right-hand edge of the image. Image 9b shows a Tumwater player being tackled from behind by a player with padded gloves and forearm guards. A referee is in the foreground just to the right of center. Image 10b shows a Tumwater player having just been tackled. Player 50 for Tumwater is standing to the left of the center of the image and looking back over his left shoulder. Image 11b shows a player for the unknown team being tackled at the left-hand edge of the image. A Tumwater player is toward the right-hand side of the image and facing toward the left. Image 12b shows several players on the ground, with Tumwater's number 51 being the only one whose jersey number is visible. Visible in the background is "BLAZERS" along the top of the stands. Player 75 for the unknown team is visible immediately to the left of player 40. The images in group "c" show a high school football game between the Tumwater T-Birds and an unknown team. Image 10c shows player 60 for the unknown team being tackled. A referee is near the bottom right corner of the image, and number 47 for Tumwater is at the left-hand side of the image. Image 11c shows player 47 for Tumwater at the left edge of the image facing away from the camera. His right arm appears to be in a position that suggests he is carrying the ball. Image 12c shows a player for Tumwater having just made contact with the ball while kicking a PAT (point after touchdown). Player 11 for Tumwater is the holder. Image 13c shows player 42 for the unknown team holding both arms out while the ball travels through the air toward him. The ball is hanging in the air immediately in front of one of the referees. Image 14c shows player 50 for Tumwater in a bearhug by one of the players from the unknown team. A Tumwater player with a jersey number beginning in 6 is jumping with his arms up in the air immediately behind player 50. The ball is hanging in the air above and behind them. Image 10e shows player 10 (or perhaps 19) for the unknown team running the ball while North Thurston's players 82 and 65 close in on him. Image 11e shows several players down on the ground. A referee is in the bottom left quadrant of the image, and player 30 for the unknown team is to the left of the referee. The images in group "f" shows a high school footall game between the Tumwater T-Birds and an unknown team. Image 17f shows player 32 for the unknown team being tackled by two Tumwater players. A referee is the closest person to the camera. Image 18f shows two players from the unknown team on the ground having just tackled a Tumwater player (only one of the tackled Tumwater player's legs is visible). One of the tacklers has jersey number 41. A referee is facing away from the camera and holding his right hand up with the fingers spread out.
