Timberline Basketball State Tourney, unknown dates. These nine black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using four different film rolls, so some of the images' physical numbers appear more than once. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to which film roll they originally came from. Each of these groups will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show a boys' high school basketball game between the Timberline Blazers and the Wapato Wolves. Image 20a shows player 44 for the Blazers going for a lay-up. Player 52 for Wapato is the closest player to him, and player 12 for the Blazers is visible in the background. Image 21a shows player 44 for the Blazers having just released a jump shot from near the free-throw line. Player 52 for Wapato is to the left of center of the image and has his left arm extended out to his side. Image 22a shows a portion of the crowd at the game, and the scoreboard behind them and centered in the image. The board shows that there are eight minutes left in the first period. Image 23a shows player 44 for Timberline and player 52 for Wapato both jumping while facing the basket. Players 22 nd 44 for Wapato are immediately below the other two players. Image 24a shows player 30 for the Blazers having just released a jump shot and player 44 for Wapato having failed to block it. Both players are in the air, and player 44 for Wapato is looking back over his shoulder. Image 25a shows player 30 for the Blazers standing under the hoop and looking up at the ball, which is in the air immediately above the hoop. Player 30 for the Blazers has his right arm bent and up in the air. Image 26a shows a portion of the crowd at the game, and the scoreboard is visible behind them. The board shows that there is 9:55 left in the second period. There is a spectator seated at the center of the crowd with both arms up in the air, and both of his index fingers extended. Image 27a shows players 44 and 54 from Wapato and players 34 and one whose jersey number starts in 4 from Timberline all jumping for the ball. Player 44 for Wapato is nearly touching the ball. Image 28a shows player 44 for the Blazers and a player from Wapato both jumping up for the ball. Player 44 for the Blazers hands are together, almost in a clapping position. Image 29a shows player 44 for the Blazers jumping with the ball grasped in both hands over his head. He appears to have just gotten a rebound. A second player for the Blazers is jumping up right next to him with his right hand up in the air. Image 30a shows players from both teams looking at the ball, which is just above and to the left of the basket. Players 44 for Timberline and 30 for Wapato are the closest players to the camera. Image 31a shows player 52 for Wapato having just released a jump shot, and player 44 for Timberline jumping up and having just failed to block the shot. The ball is partially obscured by the lower frame of the backboard. Image 32a shows player 44 for the Blazers and a Wapato player with a jersey jumber starting wit five both jumping for the ball, and number 44 appears to be grasping it with both hands. Image 33a shows player 24 for Wapato having released a jump shot while tries to block it. The ball is not visible within the image frame. Player 44 for Wapato is at the right-hand edge of the image. Image 34a shows the crowd at the game with the scoreboard visible behind them. The board shows that there is 8:00 left in the fourth period. There is an arm sticking up from the bottom edge of the image and giving a peace sign. Image 35a shows player 42 for the Blazers about to release a jump shot while player 30 for Wapato jumps and prepares ot block it. The referee is at the right-hand side of the image reaching behind his back. Image 36a shows a Timberline player having released a jump shot and a Wapato player having failed to block it. There is a referee in the foreground facing away from the camera. Image 37a shows a portion of the crowd and the scoreboard. The board shows that there is 0:23 left in the fourth period. Image 38a is very similar to the previous image, but shows 0:21 left in the fourth period. Image 39a is very similar to the previous two images, but time has expired for the game. The images in group "b" show various shots of the crowd and cheerleaders at a basketball game. These images were captured in the same venue as those in group a. Image 7b shows approximately six cheerleaders performing in front of the crowd. The picture plane is nearly perpendicular to the line of the cheerleaders. The scoreboard is visible in the background, and it shows 19:52. Image 8b shows te crowd at the game. In the bottom, left-hand corner are two people sitting down and looking backward over their shoulders. Immediately to the right of these two spectators is a boy in a windbreaker-type jacket. Image 9b shows four cheerleaders performing from behind. Their pom-poms are on the ground in front of them, and their arms are both extended down and slightly outward from their bodies. Image 10b shows the cheerleaders cheering with their pom-poms up. The scoreboard is visible in the background and shows 1:08. Image 11b shows the crowd at the game. At the center bottom of the image are three young men talking to eachother. The middle of these three young men is looking toward the camera. Imag 12b shows the crowd again, but the photographer has panned slightly to their left. The young man that was looking at the camera in the previous image is again looking toward the camera, but here he has his left thumb hooked in his pants pocket. Image 13b shows two cheerleaders at the left side of the frame facing away from the camera and cheering for the crowd. The two cheerleaders have both arms out in front of them and angled up. Image 14b shows the crowd at the game. There is a young man in the bottom right corner showing a peace sign with his right hand. Image 15b shows the crowd at the game. There is person with glasses at the bottom center of the image looking at the camera. Image 16b shows the crowd, most of whom are standing. At the bottom of the image to the left of center is a seated young person holding a small plastic megaphone. Image 17b shows the crowd, most of whom are standing and clapping. A cheerleader has her body oriented away from the camera in the bottom right quadrant of the image, but she is looking to her left and showing her face in profile. Image 18b shows the crowd again. Three small signs are being held up by spectators. One of the signs reads "Big Bad Bruce" and another reads "Darlin' Danny Pratt." The third sign is partially obscured behind other spectators, but it may read "Little Johnny." Image 25b shows a portion of the crowd, and above them the scoreboard. The board shows that there is 9:59 left in the second period. Image 26b shows five cheerleaders performing a routine while holding long-handled mallets. The mallet heads are touching the floor. Image 27b shows the cheerleaders again, but they are holding the mallets up in the air. Image 28b again shows the cheerleaders, but they are holding the mallets out to the side. The images in group "c" show a boys' high school basketball game between the Timberline Blazers and an unknown team. The unknown team has what appears to be a knight's helmet logo on their jerseys, so the team may be the Bremerton High School Knights. Image 18c shows player 30 for the Blazers having just released a jump shot while player 31 for the unknown team reaches out to try to block the shot. Image 19c shows player 30 for the Blazers again taking a jump shot, but he is further toward the left than in the previous image. Image 20c shows a player for the Blazers attempting a jump shot from the far side of the court while being defended by two members of the unknown team. Player 44 for the Blazers is the player furthest toward the left. Image 21c shows player 34 for the Blazers having released a jump shot. Player 51 for the unknown team attempted and failed to block the shot. Image 22c shows a portion of the crowd and the scoreboard above them. The board shows that there is 8:00 left in the fourth period. Image 23c shows a young man with headband playing a drum kit. The images in group "d" show a man standing next to a table with napkin dispensers, sugar jars, and other jars on top of it, and another man in a suit and tie posing in front of a concrete block wall. Image 26d shows a man posing next to a table with napkin dispensers, sugar jars, and larger empty jars with labels on them. The visible labels read "sassafras," "grape" and "raspberry. Image 27d is nearly identical to image 26d. Image 28d shows a man in a suit and tie posing in front of a concrete block wall. His hands are resting on a counter or long table beind him. Image 29d is similar to the previous image, but the man's hands are clasped in front of him. Image 30d is nearly identical to image 29d.
