Children, unknown dates. These ten black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Several different film rolls were used in the creation of these images, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated one or more times. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to which film roll they originally came from. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show a person dressed as Santa Claus and a person dressed as an elf visiting a classroom. A calendar visible in several of the images show that this group of images was taken in December of 1975. The children appear to be approximately seven years old. Image 41a shows a young girl in a patterned top and a plaid scarf sitting on Santa's lap. Image 42a shows the girl in the patterned top and plaid scarf standing in front of Santa and facing toward him. Image 43a shows the children sitting on the floor in front of Santa and the elf. A little boy wearing a shirt with a 7 on it is sitting up at the center of the group of children and giving the camera a large smile. Image 44a shows Santa sitting down and leaning forward to speak to a little girl. The elf is partially visible standing at the right-hand edge of the image. Only the lower torso and legs of the elf are visible. Image 1a shows a similar scene to that of image 44a, but the elf is not visible in the image. A young boy in a striped shirt is standing near the center of the image. Image 2a shows Santa on the left-hand side of the image and facing the children. His face is not visible in this image. The children are each holding a small potted flower. A child at the top right corner of the image is eating something. Image 3a is similar to image 2a, but the child is no longer eating. Image 4a shows the children posing for a photo with Santa and the elf. A man holding large Raggedy Ann and Andy is at the right-hand edge of the image. Image 5a shows a window with a retracted curtain at the right-hand side. Four children's heads are partially visible along the bottom edge of the image. Image 6a shows several children standing both in front of and behind the window shown in the previous image. A small child with glasses' head is partially visible at the bottom center of the image. The images in group "b" shows approximately four different women and 6-10 different children at a daycare or in an early education classroom. Image 1b shows a woman handing a boy with glasses and striped pants a piece of paper with a photo attached and what appears to be the name "Kenny" written on it. Image 2b shows a small girl with glasses and clips in her hair looking down at a different piece of paper with a photo attached. The name on this sheet of paper is not readable. Image 3b shows a woman handing one of the sheets of paper with a photo attached to a woman in glasses with a small child on her lap. Image 4b shows the woman handing out the papers with photos attached. The paper in her hand reads "Jennifer." Image 5b shows a woman with long hair wearing a flower print dress and a small boy standing next to eachother and looking into a mirror. Image 6b is nearly identical to image 5b. Image 7b shows a woman with her hair partially tied back sitting at a table with three children. On the table a piece of wood with four nails sticking out of it. Several washers or similar items are stacked on the nails, and there is a glass jar with many more of the washers also sitting on the piece of wood. Image 8b shows a very similar scene to that of image 7b, but the angle has changed so that only two of the children sitting at the table are visible. Image 21b shows an adult in a striped shirt sitting on a carpeted floor with a small child in their lap. This adult is facing away from the camera. Several other children and adults are seated on the floor nearby. Image 22b shows six children and one woman sitting on the carpeted floor. A young girl in glasses is on all fours at the center of the image. A boy in glasses is holding his left hand in the air. Image 23b shows a woman in a suit sitting on the floor with a small boy in a striped shirt. The woman is holding onto the wrists of the child. Imag 24b shows a very similar scene to that of image 23b, but the woman is leaning down to speak to the boy. Image 25b shows a similar scene to the previous two images, but the woman is pointing to one of the boy's hands. Image 26b shows several children and adults seated on the floor. A young girl in glasses is grabbing the shoes of the woman in the suit. The images in group "c" show a young girl using an audio device. Image 30c shows a young girl sitting at a desk in front of an electoric device. She is placing a picture of a pig into a slot on top of the device, and the young girl is wearing a pair of headphones which are plugged into the device. Image 31 shows the girl looking at the picture of the pig, which is now sitting in the slot on top of the device. Image 32 shows the girl looking at a picture of a bear on the same device. Image 33 shows the girl looking at a picture of a snake on the device. The images in group "d" show two young children posing with a Christmas tree. These images were captures at South Sound Center. Image 6d shows theh two children posing with the tree. The tree is occupying the right-hand side of the image. Image 7d shows the children on the right-hand side of the tree. The tree occupies most of the left-hand half of the image, and there is a portion of a sign visible through the tree's branches in the upper left corner of the image. Image 8d is nearly identical to image 7d. Image 9d shows a similar scene to that in images 7d and 8d, but the photographer has zoomed in. The images in group "e" show four children posing for a picture next to some balloons and a poster of a cartoon clown. One of the children is holding a sign which reads "Come to Mt. View's FUN NIGHT!! April 5 - 5 to 9pm". Images 21e-27e are nearlt identical.
