Tennis, unknown dates. These four black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 10 shows a young woman in a tunic-type top serving the tennis ball. Her racket is angled downward. Image 11 shows the same young woman again serving the ball, but here her racket is angled upward. Image 12 shows the same young woman again serving, but the photographer has zoomed in or moved closer to the subject so that the young woman's feet and lower legs are outside of the image frame. Image 13 shows a young person in shorts practicing their serve. It appears that they are holding a tennis ball in their left hand. Image 14 shows a tennis match occuring between the young woman shown in images 10-12 and the young person in image 13. A man is also visible standing near the far corner of the court. Image 15 shows the young woman from images 10-12 reching her racket up toward a ball in the air. A large building which appears to be a high school is visible in the background. Image 16 shows the same two young people from image 14 engaged in a tennis match. The young woman from images 10-12 is nearer to the camera and reaching out for the ball with her racket. A football field is visible in the background. Image 17 shows the same two young people engaged in a tennis match. At least two articles of clothing are visible hanging on the right-hand end of the net. Image 38 shows a young woman in shorts and a Superman shirt hving just hit the tennis ball. The ball is visible in the air near the right-hand edge of the image. Image 39 shows the same young woman either pointing with the racket or having just returned the ball to her opponent. Image 40 shows a young woman with very curly hair tossing the ball up into the air in preparation to serve it. There is a mailbox visible in the background near the left-hand edge of the image. Image 41 shows the same young woman as in the previous image, but here she has just hit the ball. The ball is visible in the air near the right-hand edge of the image. Image 42 shows two young women on the same side of the net on a tennis court. The young woman on the left is wearing a shirt which appears to read "TIMBERLINE BLAZERS." There is a sign in the background which reads "TIMBERLINE HIGH SCHOOL," although the sign is partially obscured by a passing pickup truck. The young woman on the right is looking back toward the young woman in the Timberline shirt. Image 44 shows a similar scene to the previous image, but both young women are looking forward and the young woman on the left is preparing to serve. Image 1 shows the young woman on the left about to hit the ball, which is approximately 1' from her racket in this image. Printed in alternation along one edge of the strips earing images 10-14 and 15-17 is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM." Printed at intervals along one edge of the strips bearing images 38-41 and 42-1 is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
