Description

Track Meet Timberline vs. Burnaby, unknown date. These four black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man with glasses and a goatee (Ken Balsley), a young man in a tie, and a track meet. Image 29 shows Ken Balsley posing for a photo in front of the Lacey Leader office. Image 30 shows a young man in a tie posing for a photo is front of a wood-paneled wall. A doorway is partially visible to the right of young man, and in the next room is a desk. Images 31-33 are nearly identical to image 30. Image 34 shows an image of a persons' shoes, the front of their torso, and a floor. Image 35 shows a man with a mustache and wearing a large bracelet on his left wrist posing for a photo. There is a track meet going on behind him. Image 36 shows a young person in a Timberline jersey having just released a javelin throw. Both feet are off the ground, and the toe of their right shoe is nearly touching the ground. Image 37 shows a young person in a Timberline jersey preparing to throw a javelin. The back end of the javelin is nearly touching the ground. Image 38 shows a young woman about to release a javelin throw. There is a hexagonal discoloration or light phenomena over the torso of the young woman. Image 39 shows a young person performing a high jump. The jumper's feet are pointed away from the camera. Two other young people are seated in the background and watching the jumper. Image 40 shows a young woman performing a high jump. Her feet are oriented toward the camera. The same two spectators are seated on the grass in the background. Image 41 shows the same young person performing a high jump as in image 39. One of the spectators is now standing. Image 42 shows a person participating in the pole vault. Image 43 shows many people lined up alongside a long jump runway. The image is oriented horizontally. Image 44 is very similar to image 33, but here the image is oriented vertically. Image 1 shows a person raking the sand at the end of a long jump runway. Image 2 shows a young man in a Timberline jersey participating in the long jump. He is in the air in this image. Printed in alternation along one edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."
