Basketball Blazers vs. Rams, 1973. These four black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a boys' high school basketball game between the Timberline Blazers and the North Thurston Rams. This game took place in the Timberline High School gymnasium. Image 5 shows a player for the Rams with a jersey number beginning with 3 having released a jump shot. Player 42 for the Blazers is trying to block the shot. Player 44 for the Rams is at the right-hand edge of the image facing away from the camera. Image 6 shows player 22 for the Rams dribbling the ball. There are three large paper banners on the wall in the background, and two of them are falling off the wall. Image 7 shows a player for the Blazers dribbling the ball and a player for the Rams defending. Two men and one woman are visible standing along the wall in the background. Image 8 shows a player for the Blazers on all fours and the ball rolling across the court. A player for the Rams is preparing to lunge for the ball. Image 9 shows a player for the Blazers driving toward the hoop. A player for the Rams is immediately behind him holding up both arms above his head. Image 10 shows the ball in the air above the heads of several players from both teams. The player nearest the camera is number 32 for the Rams, and he is facing away from the camera. Image 11 shows one Blazers player with the ball and two Rams players immediately behind him. A referee is near the left-hand edge of the image. The scoreboard shows that there is 2:57 left in the second period. Image 12 shows a Blazers player sitting on the floor of the court and holding the ball. A Rams player is attempting to wrestle it away from him. The scoreboard is visible and shows that there is 2:50 left in the second period. The ball is nearly toucing his fingertips. A player for the Rams with a jersey number beginning in 3 is reaching out toward the ball with his left hand. Image 18 shows player 32 for the Blazers going for a lay-up and Rams player 44 trying to block it. Image 19 shows a player for the Blazers running and dribbling the ball. Player 44 for the Rams is the player nearest the left-hand edge of the image. Image 20 shows player 30 for the Blazers in the air and having just released a pass to a teammate outside of the image frame. Image 21 shows player 32 for the Blazers jumping in the air with both hands up above his head. The ball is in the air above his hands, but it is unclear if he has just released a jump shot or is jumping up for a rebound.
