N. Thurston vs. WA. H.S. baseball, unknown date. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 18 shows a player for the Rams having just released a pitch. Image 19 shows a player for Washington H.S. with a mit on running toward home base. A batter is standing well back from the base and holding a hand up toward the running player. The umpire is looking back toward the batter. Image 20 shows the Washington H.S. player from the previous images standing over the plate while a Rams player slides into home. Image 21 shows a runner reaching first base while the baseman reaches out toward the ground with his glove. An official is crouching down and watching. Image 22 shows a batter awaiting a pitch to reach the base. The image was captured from behind the umpire, and the ball is visible in the air. Image 23 shows a player with jersey number 54 about to reach first base. The first baseman is holding is arms up in the air. Image 24 shows the umpire walking alongside the catcher. The umpire is holding his hat in his hand. Printed at intervals along one logn edge of these two film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
