Unidentified, unknown dates. These fifteen black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using many different film rolls, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated one or more times. For the purposes of this description, these images will be grouped according to which film roll they originally came from. Each group will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show four different men in a radio studio. Image 5a shows a man with a beard and glasses seated in front of a microphone and smiling as he reaches toward a piece of electronic equipment in the foreground. Image 6a shows the same man seated behind the microphone, but he is no longer smiling or reaching toward the equipment. He is looking toward the camera. Image 7a shows the same man speaking into the microphone. He is smiling, and he is not facing the camera. Image 8a is similar to the previous image, but he is not smiling. Image 9a shows four men posing for a photo in the radio studio. The man at the left is the same man from the previous four images. The man at the far right has a mustache and glasses. To two men at the center have mustaches. Image 29a shows a man with a mustache and wearing a patterned shirt sitting behind the microphone. He is wearing headphones. He is looking toward the microphone and his mouth is closed. Image 30a shows the same man from the previous image facing the microphone and speaking into it. Image 31a is similar to the previous image, but the man's mouth is only slightly open and he does not appear to be speaking. Image 32a shows a man with a mustache reaching toward the camera. He may be placing the needle on an audio record, but the foreground of the image is very blurry. Image 33a shows the man with the mustache and patterned shirt standing near a desk with radio equipment on it. He is looking toward the camera and reaching up toward the headphones around his neck. Image 34a is similar to the previous image, but the man is reaching toward the equipment in front of him with both hands. Image 35a is similar to the previous image, but he is reaching toward the equipment with only his left hand. Image 36a shows a man with a mustache seated behind the microphone. The image is oriented horizontally. Images 37a and 38a are nearly identical to images 36a, but 37a and 38a are oriented vertically. The images in group "b" show a mean seated behind a microphone and speaking on a telephone. Image 1b shows a man with a mustache in a patterned shirt holding a telephone to his ear. He is looking toward the camera and he is not smiling. Image 2b shows is similar to the previous image, but the man is looking to the left of the camera, smiling, and holding up the index finger of his right hand. Image 3b is again similar, but the man is looking toward the camera and gesturing with his right hand. He is speaking. Image 4b is similar to the previous image, but the man is not speaking. He has a look of slight surprise on his face. Image 5b is similar to the previous image, but the man has a very serious look on his face. The images in group "c" show a man in a striped dress shirt posing for photos in a backyard and on a patio or deck. Image 39c shows the man standing and leaning with his right arm out against a tree. Image 40c shows the man standing without leaning on anything. Image 41c shows the man seated on a rock. There is a birdbath near the left-hand edge of the image. The man is looking directly at the camera. Image 42c is very similar to the previous image, but the man is looking off to the right of the camera. Image 43c shows the man seated in a folding chair on a deck or patio adjacent to the yard in which the previous four images were captured. His feet are outside the bottom edge of the image frame. Image 44c again shows the man seated on the patio. His full body is within the image frame. A second person's right arm is visible in the bottom left-hand corner of the image. Image 1c again shows the man on the patio. This image was captured from the man's left'hand side. A portion of a hammock-type deck chair is visible in the bottom-right corner of the image. Image 2c shows the man with his right leg crossed over his left. The tip of his left shoe is cut off by the bottom edge of the image. Image 3c is similar to the previous image, but the man's entire left foot is outside of the bottom edge of the image frame. Image 4c is nearly identical to image 3c. The images in group "d" show a young man in a shirt wich reads "BLACKFOOT" in a library. Image 9d shows the young man seated at a table and writing in a spiral-bound notebook. The bottom half of his body is completely obscured by the table. Image 10d is similar to the previous image, but the camera has moved to the left, making the young man's right thigh visible. Image 11d shows the young man from the previous two images standing next to a library book stack and reading a book in his hands. Image 12d is very similar to the previous image, but the photographer has either zoomed in or moved closer to the young man. Image 13d is similar to the previous image, but the young man is looking up from the book and smiling. The images in group "e" show exterior shots of a single-storey home. There is a small pickup truck parked in the driveway to the left of the house. The pickup's license plate number is XM9162. Images 10e-14e are all virtually identical. The images in group "f" show an office with several different women working in it. The office appears to be that of the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 33f shows three women at separate desks in an office. There is a set of souble doors at the left-hand edge of the image, and one of the three women is standing at the right-hand edge of the image. Image 34f shows the same room, but from a different angle. The woman who was standing in image 33f is seated at a desk in this image. Imge 35f shows a woman seated at a desk speaking on a telephone. On the desk is a name placard which reads "KAREN SUE CASBOURNE" and "RECEPTIONIST-SECRETARY." Hanging on the wall behind and to the left of the woman is a framed copy of an edition of the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 36f is nearly identical to image 35f. Image 37f shows several large pieces of electronic equipment. One of the pieces of equipment has a cover on it. The images in group "g" show a man in glasses and a blazer seated at a table in what appears to be a diner. Image 22g shows the man seated at the table. A person's hand is visible holding a pen in the bottom-left corner of the image. Image 23g is very similar to the previous image, but the photographer has panned up making less of the table and more of the wall visible. Image 24g shows the same man, but here the image was taken from the man's right-hand side. He is shown nearly in profile. Image 25g is too underexposed to make out. Image 26g shows the man seated at the table. The back of a second person's head is in the right-hand foreground. The images in group "h" show a flat area of grassland with coniferous trees in the far background. A cloudy sky is above. Image 16h-20h are all nearly the same. The images in group "i" shows a group of young people playing in a string ensemble. The primary focus of these images is a young woman playing cello. Image 33i shows the young woman playing cello with other players partially visible behind her. Image 34i is similar to the previous image, but here the conductor's right hip and elbow are visisble at the left-hand side of the image. Image 35i is similar to the previous two images, but the conductor's hand is obscuring the young woman's face. Image 36i shows the players in the background and the conductor is occupying the right-hand half of the image. Image 37i is nearly identical to image 33i. The images in group "j" show large tree rootballs washed up on a beach or riverbank. Image 9j shows the rootball partially submerged in mud. Several other pieces of driftwood are visible in te background. Image 10j shows a different large rootball partially submerged in mud. There is a small bridge in the background. Images 11j-13j are nearly identical to image 10j. The images in group "k" show the large menu mounted above the cash registers at Billy Burrito's and the outdoor sign for Billy Burrito's. Image 24k shows the menu. Two people are working behind the counter. Image 25k is nearly identical to image 24k. Image 26k shows the exterior sign for Billy Burrito's. Images 27k and 28k are nearly identical to image 26k. The images in group "l" show a male and female police officer posing for a photo inside a Lacey Police car and the female police officer posing individually outside of the police car. Image 39l shows the male and female officers sitting in the police car. The woman is in the driver's seat. A logo on the driver's side door reads ""PREVENT CRIME LACEY POLICE 911." Image 40l shows the female officer standing outside of the car. A sheet of paper is visible at the left-hand side of the image, presumably being held by a person outside of the image frame. Image 41l is similar to the previous image, but the photographer has moved more in front of the female officer. A corner of the sheet of paper is visible at the bottom of the image. Image 42l shows is similar to the previous images, but here a portion of a person's hair is sticking into the image from the left-hand edge. A small portion of a hat is visible on this person's head. The hat may be a hardhat. Image 43l is very similar to the previous image, but the officer is smiling.
Printed at intervals along one edge of each of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."Made/Created
