Description

TC Dairy Princess and Candidates, unknown date. These six black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show six different young women posing for portrait photographs, one of whom is wearing a tiara and a sash which reads "THURSTON COUNTY DAIRY PRINCESS." Image 23 shows a young woman wearing a patterned shirt under a cardigan. She is looking toward the camera and has a small smile on her face. Image 24 is very similar to the previous image, but the young woman is smiling more widely and her eyes are more squinted. Image 25 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 26 shows a young woman in a collared dress with patterned sleeves. She is looking toward the camera and smiling. Image 27 and 28 are nearly identical to image 26. Image 29 shows a young woman wearing a dress with a vaguely plaid-like pattern and a thin chain necklace. She is smiling. Images 30 and 31 are very similar to image 29, but she has a larger smile on her face. Image 32 shows a young woman wearing a plaid dress or vest over a wide-collared shirt. She is smiling and her head is turned toward the right-hand side of the image. Image 33 is very similar to image 32, but her head is turned more toward the camera. Image 34 shows a young woman in a coat or think dress with buttons or some similar decoration of the lapels. Her head and body are oriented toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 38 is very similar to the previous image, but the woman has turned slightly more toward the camera. Image 39 is nearly identical to the previous image. Image 40 shows a young woman in a tiara and a sash which reads "THURSTON COUNTY DAIRY PRINCESS." She is not smiling. Images 41-43 are very similar to image 40, but the young woman is smiling. Printed in alternation along one edge of all of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."
