Description

Fire Prevention South Sound, 1973. These two black and white contact photo film strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 7 shows a an older man sitting in a very old Ford firetruck. He is wearing a suit and tie and the truck appears to be in a shopping mall. There is a sign behind the truck that looks to say "Singer". The truck is facing the man's right The image is oriented horizontally. Image 8 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image 9 is very similar to the previous image. The photo is taken from the other side of the truck which is now facing the man's left. Image 10 is very similar to the previous image. Another man is inspecting the front of the old firetruck while the older man is sitting in it. Images 11 and 12 are virtually identical to the previous image. Image 13 shows a different older man standing next to what appears to be a very old ambulance. The ambulance has several markings written on it on various parts. On the front of the vehicle is a sign reading "Medic-1", there is also writting on the grill that says "Old Face Full", the wheel well says "No Brakes" the headlight reads "Head Lite" and various more. Image 14 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image 15 shows a mural of a cow kicking backwards that reads "I Kicked Off Fire Prevention Week" The back of the two film strips have "Fire Prevention South Sound, 1973" written on them.
