Basketball Olympia vs. Rams, 1979. These four black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a high school boys' basketball game between the Olympia Bears and the North Thurston Rams. The game was played in the Timberline High School gymnasium. Image 21 shows a person in glasses holding up the index and middle fingers of their right hand with the back of the hand facing the camera. There is a ring on the person's ring finger. Image 22 shows player 41 for the Rams dribbling the ball past two Olympia players. The scoreboard is visible in the background, and it shows 9:26 left in the period. Image 23 shows player 41 for the Rams about to release a jump shot while player 42 for Olympia jumps and reaches out to block the shot. Image 24 shows player 35 for the Bears and a North Thurston player with a jersey number beginning with 1 between mid-court and the top of the key. Player 31 for North Thurston is the player nearest to the camera, and he is facing away from the camera. Image 25 shows a jumble of players from both teams under the basket. Player 30 for the Bears is the closest player in the jumble to the camera, and he is facing away from the camera. Player 21 for North Thurston is near the right-hand edge of the image. Image 35 shows two players from each team underneath the basket and reaching up toward the ball, which is immediately next to the basket. One of the Rams players is number 45, and one of the Olympia players is 21. Image 36 shows player 35 for the Bears about to grab the ball as it falls out the bottom of the net. The players closest to him are number 40 for Olympia and number 33 for North Thurston. Image 37 shows player 25 for North Thurston in the distance about to release a jump shot. Player 35 for North Thurston is near the center of the image facing away from the camera. This image is somewhat out of focus. Image 38 shows player 35 for North Thurston either having just released a jump shot or jumping up to get a rebound. Image 39 shows player 25 for the Rams having either just released a jump shot or about to get a rebound. Player 23 for the Bears is the player furthest to the left in the image. Image 40 shows player 41 for the Rams standing underneath the basket with both arms up in the air. Player 43 for the Bears is at the right-hand side of the image looking up toward the basket.
