1973 Council Candidates, 1973. These three black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show four different men posing individually for photos. These men are Stephen Robb, Julio Silva, Delbert Chase and an unidentified man. Image 18 shows a man (Stephen Robb) in glasses and a patterned, button-up short-sleeved shirt with his hands clasped in front of him. He is turned slightly toward the right-hand side of the image, and he is shown from the mid-thigh up. Image 19 also shows Mr. Robb,, but here he is turned toward the left-hand side of the image and he is shown from the waist up. Image 20 is very similar to the previous image, but his head and body are turned more toward the camera. Image 21 is very similar to the previous two images, but he has again turned slightly more toward the camera. Image 28 shows a man (Julio Silva) with a mustache in a patterned suit and tie posing for a photo. His body is turned toward the left-hand side of the image. Image 29 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image 30 is very similar to the previous two images, but here Mr. Silva has a very slight smile on his face. Image 31 shows a man (Delbert Chase) in a suit and a paisley tie posing for a photo. His body is turned toward the right-hand side of the image, but he is looking toward the camera. He is shown from the hip up. Image 32 is very similar to the previous image, but Mr. Chase has turned his head away from the camera slightly. Image 33 is very similar to the previous two images, but here his head is turned more toward the camera than in the others. Image 34 is nearly identical to image 33. Image 35 shows a man with a chain or braid hanging from one of his belt loops giving a peace sign. His body is turned away from the camera, but he is turning his face back toward the camera and smiling.
Stephen Robb, Julio Silva and Delbert Chase were all candidates for the Lacey City Council in March of 1973. A fourth man (not the man showun in image 35) named C. Dale Ferrier was also in the race, but is not pictured here. (Lacey Leader, 3/28/1973, pg. 1)Made/Created
