Description

Marvin Rd Dump, 1977. These two black and white negative film strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 41 shows a large forest clearing full of garbage. In the left of the image is a garbage truck dumping more trash. Far in the back appears to be a backhoe or similar machinery moving the garbage. All over the field are hundreds of crows. The image is oriented horizontally. Image 42 is very similar to the previous image. There is no garbage truck or machinery moving or dumping the garbage. Image 43 is very similar to the previous image. There is a in focus pile of garbage in the lower right corner consisting of two mattresses, a trash bag and a ITZA toy truck box to name a few. Image 44 shows three barrels. The left barrel has a sign with "Interlane Road" on it and an arrow pointing to the left. The middle barrel has a sign with "cars and pickups" on it with an arrow pointing to the left and right. The far right barrel has no sign. Image 1 shows the road in and out of the dump. There is a dulldozer to the left of the check-in station. past the station is a sing with "VIP'S" on it to the lef tof that is a 76 station sign. Image 2 shows a huge flock of birds lifting and flying away from the dump. Image 3 is very similar to the previous image. The flock of birds lands again farther away from the camera. One edge of the film strips has "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM" printed on it.
