Description

Waitress, dates unknown. This single black and white negative film strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 32 shows a waitress pouring coffee for a man at a table. She is wearing a dress with a small apron around her waist with earrings. She has a nametag but her name is illegible. The man she is pouring coffee for is wearing a collared shirt underneath a heavy jacket. He has something left hand and is about to grab something with his right. The other man is mostly blocked by the waitress. However he appears to have strips on his righ sleeve like a pilot's uniform would have. He is using a fork with his right hand. The image is oriented horizontally. Image 33 is virtually identical to the previous image. Ken Balsley stated that he believed this image was captured in the Sambo's Restaurant location which opened in 1974 and was located at 608 E Sleater-Kinney Road in Lacey, Washington. (see Ken Balsley interview from 8/27/2018 and "Lacey Sambo's Opening," Daily Olympian, 5/26/1974) One edge of the film strip has "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM" printed on it.
