Unidentified People,1977. These 28 negative film strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. The images will be split into lettered groups for this description. The images will still be enumerated but the number will be following the letter (ex. A1, A2, B1, B2). Image A17 shows a line of cars at a car dealer. There are seven or eight of the same model car lined up with what appears to be a different car at the far end of the line. The line up shows only the rear ends of the cars not the fronts. The same model car is a two door coupe. In the upper right corner of the image is part of a uhaul truck "ONE-WAY AND LOCAL RENTALS" on the side. The image is oriented horizontally. Image A18 shows a car dealer sign. It is a three sectioned sign with "FORD LINCOLN MERCURY" respectively in one of the sections. There appears to be a powerline in the upper left corner of the image. Image A19 shows a lineup of cars, showing the front ends only not the rear ends. The cars are all very similar until the far end where it changes from a family sedan to what appears to be something like a Volkswagen Vanagon. Image A20 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image A21 shows a lineup of four Dodge vans. Above and behind the wans is a arrowed sign with "Service" on it. Image A22 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image A23 shows the hood and grill of a Lincoln car. The hood ornament is broken off. There is a small sign on the grill with "Mark V" on it. The image is oriented vertically. Image A24 is very similar to the previous image. This car's hood ornament is not broken off. Image A25 shows the car dealer's sign. It is a three sectioned sign with Lincoln, Ford and Mercury in one of each of the sections. In the lower left corner is a sign with "Capri" on it in front of a floor model car. Image A31 shows the fornt exterior of the car dealer. There are several people in the lower right corner. They are both wearing short sleeved shirts and slacked, the one on the left is wearing a vest. The car dealers has a large front wall of windows with streamers tied to it. There are many cars parked around the dealer. The image is oriented horizontally. Image A32 is very similar to the previous image. There are no longer people in the lower right corner. Image A33 shows a car dealer's lot with many cars parked in rows. The building has "Buick, GMC, Olds and Opel" on it. The dealer's garage is also open showing several cars parked inside There are several strings of flags hung above the cars. Image A34 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image A35 shows the front end of a car. The front of the car has "Oldsmobile" on it. Behind it are many other cars and reflected in the car's hood are the many strings of flags hung above it. Image B16 shows an unknown man at a cash register. He is wearing a plaid collared shirt and glasses. Behind him is a sign with "Dairy Store" on it. The till on the register has "0021" on it. He is smiling. The image is oriented horizontally. Image B17 is very similar to the previous image. It is taken from across the store and reveals more about the store. Behind the man at the counter on the wall are two signs with "Beverages" and "Dairy" on them. To the man's left in the foreground are baked goods like bread. To his right are a variety of things including a sign with "Polarized Foster Grant" on it. Image B18 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image B19 shows a photograph of flourescent ceiling light tubes. Image B20 shows an unknown man in the store. He is wearing jacket with a patch on his left arm that has "State Security Patrol" on it. The jacket is over a buttoned shirt and tie with two pins in his lapel that spell out "STATE". He is looking to his right and smiling. Image B21 shows the man in plaid and the man in the jacket talking inside the store. The man in plaid's left hand is pointing to his right. The man in the jacket is looking at the man in plaid. Images B22 and B23 are virtually identical to the previous image. Image B24 shows a different unknown man. He is wearing a collared shirt and glasses. He is looking to his left. He is standing next to a cup dispenser and a sign that has "Corn Cob Pipes Unfiltered" on it. Image B25 is very similar to the previous image. He is now smoking a cigarette that he is holding in his right hand. Image B26 is very similar to the previous image. He is taking the cigarette from his mouth and is blowing smoke. Image B27 shows another unknown man. He is wearing a knit cap and jacket. He is facing his left and smiling. There is a sign behind him that has "Entire Inventory Rebate Sale" on it. Image B28 is very similar to the previous image. The man is now sweeping the floor with a broom. There are see through garage doors behind him that cars are visible through. Image B29 is very similar to the previous image. It is oriented vertically. Image B30 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image B31 shows a group of unknown men meeting in what appears to be a library. Two men are standing out of the visible six. Both are in suits and ties. The one on the right appears older and is Asian. The man on the left has a busy patterned tie. One man on the left has his elbows on his knees and is hanging his head. The image is oriented horizontally. Image B32 shows a very dark and blurry image. Image B33 shows a group of five people outside. Two men are standing to either side of a woman with a shovel. She appears to be starting to dig in a small patch of dirt infront of a large building. To her left is a man wearing priest robes. All of the other people are watching her with the shovel. The image is oriented vertically. Image B34 is very similar to the previous image. All the people are smiling and the woman is lifting the shovel away from the ground. Image B35 is very similar to the previous image. One of the men is digging with the shovel and everyone else is smiling. Image B36 is very similar to the previous image. The man with the shovel is handing it to another man walking up to him. The image is oriented horizontally. Image B37 is very similar to the previous image. The man who was handed the shovel is starting to dig. Image C24 shows three men outside near Marcus Pavilion laying out a large tarp. Two of the three men are at the far end of the tarp bent over the man at the close end is standing straight up. The image is oriented vertically. Image C25 is very similar to the previous image. The man at the close end is grabbing and unfolding the tarp and the men at the other end are walking around the tarp. Image C26 is very similar to the previous image. There are now seven men working on the unfolded tarp. One man on the far left has a jacket with "FUNTASTIC traveling shows" on the back. The image is oriented horizontally. Image C27 is very similar to the previous image. One of the men is holding a large tent pole in his hand while the others are watching and talking to him. Image C28 shows three people standing on both sides of the tent. The three on the near side are beginning to put the tentpole in to the tent. The three on the far side are watching and waiting. Image C29 shows the two groups beginning to stake down the poles for the tents. There is a mother and two children watching. Behind the people are several cars and a truck with "7up" on the side. Image C30 shows the tent part way up with the sides more or less standing but the center roof still collapsed. Image C31 is very similar to the previous image. It shows the other side of the tent and the group there setting up the slack lines. Image C32 shows the now large group getting ready to send someone inside the tent to set up the ceiling. Image C33 shows the people inside the tent setting up the poles that hold the ceiling up. Image C34 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image C35 shows the outside of the tent with two of the three ceiling poles set up. The close end is still down but the rest of the tent is set up. Image C36 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image C37 shows many people picking and moving wooden planks and poles. Image C37 is very similar to the previous image. There are not as many people as they have left with the wooden poles. Image D26 shows a unknown man pulling doughnuts off a conveyor belt. He is wearing a collared shirt and a hat with an image of a coffee cup and a doughnut on it. The image is oriented vertically. Image D27 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image D28 is very similar the man appears to be pulling a tray of cookies off a large shelf with many trays of cookies on it. Image D29 shows two unknown people in a hallway. One is taking the picture of the other as they stand near a sign with Japanese lettering on it. In the background is a group of several more people. Image D30 shows a classroom with young kids. There are three adults. One is wearing an apron over her dress. Another appears to be wearing a yukata and the third is mostly hidden by the first adult. There is a sign on the wall with "London England" on it with several maps of the city. Image D31 is very similar to the previous image. The adults are standing looks at books and smiling. Images D32 and D33 are virtually identical to the previous image. Image D34 shows a young woman behind a counter. There is somekind of seethrough box in front of her. She is not smiling. Image D35 is very similar to the previous image. She is wearing a name tag that has "We're Glad You're Here" and "Joann..." on it. Her name is partially concealed. She is smiling. Images D36, D37 and D38 are virtually identical to the previous image. Image D39 shows a large group of elementary schoolers in a parking lot. Some are with adults some are not. In the foreground is a woman taking a picture of a group of three children and an older woman. Image D40 shows a group of men meeting in a library. All are in suit and tie. Two on the right are standing and the left most of them is talking and moving his right arm. There are two older men sitting at a table close to the two standing men. Image D41 is very similar to the previous image. The standing man on the right is now talking. While the man on the left has his right hand on his chin. Image D42 is very similar to the previous image. The image was taken behind the sitting men creating a different angle. Image D44 shows a gorup of unknown people holding and nailing a sign on a pole that has "Super Patio Sale" on it. Images D1, D2 and D3 are virtually identical to the previous image. Image E16 shows a Mazda sign. There is an street light to the left of the sign. The image is oriented horizontally. Image E17 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image E18 shows a two sectioned sign with "Ford" in the left section and the Ford symbol on the right section. Image E19 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image E20 shows a pole with the Volkswagen symbol on it. Halfway up the pole is a small sign with "Hanson Volkswagen Inc. 3000 Pacific Avenue" on it. The image is oriented vertically. Image F34 shows an image of a wooden floor. There are black square patterns in the upper left and right quadrants of the image. The image is oriented horizontally. Image F35 shows a group of kids and a adult in the middle of a grassy field. There are piles of baseball mitts on the ground and two of the kids are holding baseball bats. There are several houses and fences in the background. Image F36 is very similar to the previous image. The kids are starting to surround one o the kids with a bat. He is holding the bat on his shoulder and standing next to a tee with a baseball on it. F37 shows the adult and one of the kids with a bat standing next to the tee. The adult is talking to the kids and there are two more kids standing nearer to the camera than the adult and kid with bat talking. Image F38 is very similar to the previous image. The man is holding his hand infront of the tee holding the kid back from hitting the ball and is talking. Image F39 is very similar to the previous image. The man is putting another ball on the tee after the kid has just swung. Image F40 shows the man mimicking a swing while the kid is watching a practicing with the bat. There is another kid watching the practice. Image F41 shows the kid with the bat resting on his shoulders standing next to the tee getting ready to swing. Image F42 shows the kid near the tee with the bat held infront of him. Image F2 shows a different kid hitting the ball off the tee while the man and three other kids watch. Image F3 shows the coach helping another kid with his swing. Image G19 shows two older women sitting at a table. The woman on the left has her head resting on her hand and is watching the woman on the right carve wood. There are three carvings on the table of animals. Images G20, G21 and G22 are virtually identical to the previous image. Image G23 is very similar to the previous image. It was taken from across the table to change the angle. Image G24 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image G37 shows a group of people standing in front of a table of wooden toy trucks. One of the people is holding one of the trucks in her hands. Image G38 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image G39 shows a group of three looking at the trucks. The woman on the left is holding one of the trucks and is talking to the two others on her left. Image G40 is very similar to the previous image. Another older woman is now holding one of the trucks and smiling. Image G41 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image H40 shows a man (David Brown) holding a certificate. He is wearing a suit and tie. The certificate recognizes his service to the people and community from the Greater Olympia Board of Realtors. He is looking at the certificate and talking. The image is oriented vertically. Image H41 is very similar to the previous image. He is looking at the camera and smiling. Image H42 and H43 are virtually identical to the previous image. Image H44 shows two woman standing on either side of a painting. The woman on the right is wearing a vest with an ascot on her neck. The woman on the right is wearing a dress with a high collar and a necklace. They are both looking at the camera and smiling. The painting is of a litle girl. Image H1 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image H2 is very similar to the previous image. The woman on the right has moved the painting and both are looking at it. Image H3 is very similar to the previous image. The woman on the right is looking at the camera. Image H4 is very similar to the previous image. The woman on the left is now holding the painting. Image H5 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image I19 shows a group of three woman sitting on a couch in a living room. The two on the right are ceating close to each other and are talking. All three women are smiling. The image is oriented horizontally. Images I20, I21, I22 and I23 are virtually identical to the previous image. Image I41 shows two older women sitting across each other at a table. The woman on the left is wearing a collared jacket and glasses. The woman on the right is wearing a collared blouse and glasses. The woman on the left is stacking plates and the woman on the right is holding on to two small mugs. They are talking. Image I42 is virtually identical to the previous image. Image I43 is very similar to the previous image. Both women are now looking at the camera not each other.
One edge of the strips in groups A, B, D, E, F, G & H have "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM" printed on them.
