Description

School Lunch Program, 1973. This single black and white film negative strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a woman (Edith Dougherty) in glasses wearing a blouse with a pattern of large checkers on it. Within some of the checks is a stylized depiction of a bull. The blouse also has a loose tie at the collar. Image 30 shows Ms. Dougherty with her head and body oriented toward the left-hand side of the image frame She is smiling, and may be laughing. Image 31 shows Ms. Dougherty from a slightly lower perspective than the previous image. She appears to be biting her lip. Image 32 is very similar to image 30, but Ms. Dougherty's head and body are oriented toward the right-hand side of the image frame. Image 33 is similar to the previous image, but Ms. Dougherty is laughing and her head is tilted backward. These images were created to accompany an article in the Lacey Leader newspaper concerning the North Thurston School Districct's lunch program. Edith Dougherty was the supervisor of the district's lunch program.
