Freedom Train Ticket, 1975. These two black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a woman in a blazer and knee-length skirt (Ann Mayes) and an older man in a suit and tie (Howard Grimm) purchasing tickets from a younger man (Jim Sheerer) with glasses and a mustache in a suit and tie. They are in the Pay 'N Save location in South Sound Center. Mr. Sheerer is standing behind the retail counter. He also has a nametag on his jacket, but in most of these images it is too blurred to read. Image 14 shows the woman and the older man from their right-hand sides. The older man is handing cash to Mr. Sheerer, and Mr. Sheerer is handing the older man five tickets. Image 15 is very similar to the previous image, but the older man has turned more toward the camera, making his face visible. He is smiling and looking down toward the cash/tickets. Image 16 is similar to image 15, but the woman is facing toward the camera and is speaking. This is the only image in which Mr. Sheerer's nametag is partially readable. His name is visible, as is the word "Drugs." Image 17 is very similar to image 15, but the older man is looking toward the man with glasses. Image 18 is very similar to image 17, but image 18 was captured from a slightly lower angle. Image 19 is nearly identical to image 17. Image 20 shows Mr. Sheerer counting the tickets in his hands. Image 21 is nearly identical to image 14, but the older man and Mr. Sheerer are both looking at each other. Image 22 is similar to the previous images, but the image was captured from Mr. Sheerer' side of the counter. The older man is reaching out with cash, and Mr. Sheerer is reaching out with the tickets. Image 23 is nearly identical to the previous image, but Mr. Sheerer is not reaching out with the tickets.
