Description

Ron Ryder, 1975. These two black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man (Ron Ryder) at the former location of the Woodland Driving Park horse race track. Image 28 shows Mr. Ryder with his body oriented toward the left-hand side of the image and his head turned away from the camera. He is pointing down the track on which he is standing, and away from the camera. Image 29 shows Mr. Ryder in the same spot as in the previous image. Here his body and head are oriented toward the left-hand side of the image frame. He is also pointing toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Mr. Ryder is shown in profile in this image. Image 30 shows Mr. Ryder looking toward the camera and pointing away from the camera. His body is oriented toward the right-hand side of the image frame. Image 31 shows Mr. Ryder facing away from the camera with his body oriented toward the left-hand side of the image frame. His right hand is partially visible pointing away from the camera. Image 32 shows Mr. Ryder with his left hand resting on a rail fence. His head and body are facing toward the camera, and he is pointing roughly toward the camera. His right hand is partially obscuring his face. Image 33 is similar to the previous image, but the photographer has moved to his right and closer to the subject. Image 34 shows Mr. Ryder in the same pose as in the previous two images, but here Mr. Ryder is shown from his right-hand side. Image 35 is very similar to the previous image, but the photographer has moved to their right slightly. Image 36 is very similar to the previous image, but the photographer has moved away from Mr. Ryder. The Woodland Driving Park was opened by Isaac Ellis in 1891.
