Unidentified People, 1973. These images were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using several different rolls of film, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to which film roll they originally came from. Each of the groups will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show a man (former Lacey mayor Leon Schiendelman) posing in the yard of a home and holding up a small plaque with a gavel affixed to it. Image 1a shows Mr. Schiendelman holding up the plaque and looking toward it. The plaque reads " MAYOR SCHIENDELMAN, In Appreciation For Your Outstanding and Dedicated Service As a Councilman and Mayor From November 25, 1969 to July 1, 1973. LACEY CITY COUNCIL AND ADMINISTRATION". He is facing toward the righthand side of the image frame. Image 2a is very similar to image 1, but the photographer has stepped back or zoomed out from the subject. Image 3a is similar to image 2, but Mr. Schiendelman is facing toward the lefthand side of the image frame. The front tire of a car is visible to the right of Mr. Schiendelman. Image 4a is very similar to image 3a, but the photographer has moved to their right slightly. The tire of the car is not visible in this image. The images in group "b" show five people seated on a curb. Four of the people are holding live pigeons, and there are two trophies topped with pigeon decorations in the middle of the group. Image 25b shows the five people gathered for a group photo. Images 26b-28b are nearly identical to image 25b. The images in group "c" show a man in glasses and a striped polo who appears to be holding open a door, and a man and a woman dancing for a crowd. Image 29c shows a man in glasses and a striped polo shirt looking toward the camera. His right hand is visible resting against a large, blank object which is occupying the lefthand 1/3 of the image. He appears to be opening a door for the photographer to enter. Image 30c shows a man and a woman dancing in front of several spectators. There is a large banner hanging on the wall which reads "AMERICAN REVOLUTION BICENTENNIAL." The images in group "d" show a man (Bob Chamberlain) kneeling down in front of a framed landscape painting of a mountain and the surrounding woodland. The painting is resting on the floor and leaning up against a wall. Image 5d shows Mr. Chamberlain kneeling in front of the painting. He is looking toward the painting. Images 6d-7d are nearly identical to image 5d. Image 8d shows Mr. Chamberlain still kneeling in front of the painting, but here he is looking toward the camera. Image 9d is nearly identical to image 8d. The images in group "e" show people handling documents in an office setting. Image 25e shows a woman in glasses laughing and looking toward a man with a mustache in a suit. Image 26e shows a bearded man with glasses looking down at a bound document or book held in his hands. There are two women and one man in the background. The wall behind them is covered in many small storage cubbies. Image 27e shows a woman in glasses and a turtleneck sweater holding a large stack of documents in her right hand and looking to her right while smiling. Image 28e shows the same woman looking down at the stack of documents in her hand. She is wearing a nametag which reads "DIXIE ANN JOHNSON." Image 29e shows the bearded man from image 26e posing for a portrait-style photo.
Printed along one long edge of all of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
