Lacey Foods Cole Retinee, 1973. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man (Cole Retinee) in a commercial kitchen cutting bone-in ribeye steaks from a primal. Image 15 shows Mr. Retinee standing at his butcher block and preparing a tray to put the cut steaks into. There is a seated woman visible in the background with a small child seated on her lap. There is a sign partially visible hanging on the wall. The visible portion reads "IN THE NORTHWEST." Image 16 shows Mr. Retinee cutting steaks. There are two numbered tags and a cloth visible on the table next to the butcher's block. The knife is obscured behind the primal. Image 17 is similar to the previous image, but Mr. Retinee is holding the knife pointed downward and beginning a cut into the meat. Image 18 is nearly identical to image 16. Image 19 is very similar to image 17, but Mr. Retinee's knife is cutting further toward the far end of the primal. Image 20 shows Mr. Retinee making another cut. His left hand is on top of the primal. Image 21 shows Mr. Retinee making a cut all the way at the far end of the primal. Image 22 shows Mr. Retinee holding the primal with his fingertips at the end nearer to the camera. Image 23 shows Mr. Retinee making another cut. His lips are pursed in this image. Image 24 shows Mr. Retinee preparing to make another cut. The back edge of the knife is nearly parallel with the top of the primal.
Printed in alternation along one long edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
