Fred Radke, 1975. These two black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man in a jacket and a tie (Fred Radke) posing for photos under a Safeway grocery store sign. Below the Safeway logo is a sign with changeable text which reads "CONGRATULATIONS FRED RADKE AFTER 30 YEARS OF SERVICE." Image 35 shows Mr. Radke standing under the sign. Mr. Radke is shown from approximately the ankles up. Several cars are passing on the street at the left side of the image. Image 36 is very similar to the previous image, but no cars are passing on the street. Image 37 is similar to the previous two images, but only one car is passing on the street. Image 38 is similar to the previous images, but two cars are passing on the street. Image 39 shows a shot from almost immediately under the sign. Only Mr. Radke's head is visible in this image, and he is facing slightly to the left. Image 40 is very similar to the previous image, but Mr. Radke is facing slightly toward the right. Image 41 shows Mr. Radke fairly near to the camera and the sign farther away in the background. Mr. Radke is shown from the waist up. A pickup truck with a camper mounted in the bed is passing behind him. Image 42 is very similar to the previous image, but two cars are passing behind Mr. Radke. Image 43 is very similar to the previous two images, but one car is passing behind Mr. Radke. The back end of a van is just barely visible at the left-hand edge of the image frame. Image 44 shows a man in glasses and a tie posing for a portrait photo. He is smiling.Made/Created
