Description

Eclipse, 1975. These two film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Two separate film rolls were used in the creation of these images, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, one of these strips will be assigned a lower-case "a" to go along with the physical numbers on the strips, and the other will be assigned a lower-case "b" (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show a lunar eclipse. Image 24a shows the moon with a considerable halo around is. Images 25a through 28a show a progressively smaller halo. No objects other than the moon are visible in any of these images. The images in group "b" also show a lunar eclipse. In these images, the moon is not zoomed in on as much as in group "a." The tops of several trees are also visible in these images. Image 21b shows the eclipse and the largest tree in the lower-right quadrant of the image frame. As the images progress from 22b through 25b, the moon and largest tree move progressively upward and the to left. These images show the lunar eclipse which occurred on May 25, 1975.
