Description

Chamber Kidwalder Presentation, 1974. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two women speaking into a microphone as two men in suits stand nearby, and a close-up of a person opening a pack of cigarettes or a similarly packaged items. Image 20 shows a close-up of a person's hands and mid-torso. The person is opening a pack or cigarettes or a similarly packed item. The person has several pens in their breast pocket. Image 21 shows two women speaking into the same microphone. The woman on the far left is Kathy Taylor. They are also both holding the same piece of paper and appear to be reading it. Two men in suits are standing near to the women. There is a flag pole near the left-hand edge of the image. There are also at least two plaques and a portrait photo of a man hanging on the wall. This image was presumably captured at the Lacey Area Chamber of Commerce Images 22-25 are nearly identical to image 21. Image 26 shows the same scene as in the previous images, but the photographer has moved slightly closer to the four people. The presentation shown in these images is likely an award given in memoriam of Ray Kidwalder, the first president of the Lacey Area Chamber of Commerce. The woman to the right of Kathy Taylor is likely the widow of Ray Kidwalder. (Ken Balsley interview, 9/1/2017)
