Steve Cunningham, 1974. This single black and white film negative strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man (Steve Cunnigham) with glasses, a beard and a thin headband posing with a pile of metal pieces and holding an art piece made up plasma or oxy-acetylene cut pieces of metal. Image 18 shows the man seated on the ground next to a pile of what appear to be parts of a car frame and various other pieces of metal. The man is looking directly at the camera and not smiling. Image 19 is very similar to the previous image, but he is laughing and looking toward his left. Image 20 shows the man standing and holding up an art piece made up of plasma or oxy-acetylene cut metal. The piece is reminiscent of evergreen trees and islands or mountains. Images 21 and 22 are nearly identical to image 20.
These images were created to accompany a story concerning Mr. Cunnigham' success as a metal sculptor. (Lacey Leader, 2/13/1974, pg.11A)
Printed in alternation along the bottom edge of this film negative strip is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
