Virginia Woods Dance Co., 1978. These eleven black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Two separate film rolls were used in the creation of these images, so some of the physical numbers on the strips are duplicated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to which film roll they originally came from. Each of these groups will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show a dance class taking place in a gymnasium. Image 8a shows appoximately ten people arranged in rows dancing. The person nearest to the camera is a woman with curly hair, glasses, and a striped shirt. She is clapping. Image 9a shows approximately fifteen people dancing. The person nearest to the camera is a man with glasses wearing a plaid button-up shirt. He is facing away from the camera. Image 10a shows approximtely 14 people dancing. Image 12a shows three couples who appear to be slow dancing. The man nearest to the camera is wearing plaid slacks and his shirt has the appearance of velvet. He is facing directly away from the camera. Image 13a shows the legs and feet of approximately six people. Image 14a shows a man and a woman practicing a dance near to a row of metal folding chairs. Three other people are visible in the image, but none of them are dancing. A man in glasses and a vest is seated near to the right-hand edge of the image frame.
