Lacey Parks and Recreation, 1974. These three black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show shots of a young man swinging a tennis racket, a young man aiming a bow and arrow and a young man hitting a golf ball. Image 26 shows a young man preparing to swing a tennis racket in his right hand. His left hand is immediately above his left knee. Image 27 shows the same young man swinging the tennis racket at shoulder level. His left arm is extended toward the camera. Here one can see that the young man's shirt reads "LYDIA HAWK." Image 28 is very similar to the previous image, but the young man's left arm is extended more toward the right-hand side of the image frame. Image 29 is similar to the previous images, but the racket is pointing toward the camera. Image 30 shows a young man aiming a bow and arrow to the right of the camera. There is a parked car partially visible in the upper, left-hand edge of the image. Image 31 is very similar to the previous image, but the photographer has panned to their right slighty. The parked car is not visible in this image. Image 32 is nearly identical to image 31. Image 33 shows the young man aiming the bow and arrow directly at the camera. The rear end of a parked car is visible at the left-hand edge of the image frame. Image 34 shows the young man aiming the bow and arrow just to the left of the camera. Image 35 is very similar to image 33, but the parked car is not visible in this image. Image 36 shows a young man in cutoff overalls getting ready to hit a golf ball. Image 37 shows the young man with the golf club up over his head in preparation to swing. Image 38 shows the young man beginning his swing. Image 39 shows the young man about to hit the golf ball. Image 40 shows the young man with the golf club at the end position of his swing. Images 41 and 42 are nearly identical to image 40.Made/Created
