Description

Lacey Drive-In and Winchell's, 1978. This single black and white film negative strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. Image 41 shows the Lacey Drive-In's entrance and exit, the back of the projection screen and the billboard-sized sign in front. The sign reads "LACEY CLOSED FOR THE SEASON," "SMP" and "BLT." Image 42 is very similar to the previous image, but a car is passing through the image foreground. Image 43 is similar to image 41, but the photographer has moved approximately 25 feet to their left. Image 44 is nearly identical to image 43. Image 1 shows the exterior of a Winchell's Donut House. One car is parked next to the Winchell's. The Winchell's Donut Shop was in the location now (September 2017) occupied by Hevenly Donuts at 805 Sleaater Kinney Rd. SE in Lacey, Washington. Printed at intervals along one long edge of this film negative strip is "KODAK SAFETY FILM 5063."
