Larry Price and North Thurston Fine Arts Fest, 1973. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two young women (Julie Yeager and Kathy Hauser) and two young men (Jim Sthay and Mike Cleveland) posing with musical instruments and a man (Larry Price) in a tie posing for portrait-style photos. Image 8 shows the two young men and two young women posing for an outdoor group photo. The seated young woman (Julie Yeager) is holding either a violin or a viola. The young woman holding a flute at the right is Kathy Hauser. The young man at left (Jim Sthay) is holding a French horn, and the young man at center (Mike Cleveland) is holding a trumpet. Ms. Yeager's legs are outside the bottom edge of the image frame. The image is oriented horizontally. Image 9 is very similar to the previous image, but it is oriented vertically. Image 10 is very similar to image 9, but here the photographer has zoomed out from the subjects slightly. Image 11 is very similar to image 8, but here the photographer has panned down slightly to make Ms. Yeager's legs visible. Image 12 is nearly identical to image 11. Image 13 shows Ms. Hauser now seated and Ms. Yeager standing. Image 14 shows a man (Larry Price) wearing a tie and a short-sleeved dress shirt squinting and smiling for the camera. Image 15 is very similar to image 14, but here Mr. Price's hands are are on his hips and he is looking more directly toward the camera.
These images were captured for inclusion in a Lacey Leader newspaper article concerning North Thurston High School's second annual Fine Arts Festival, a performance and exhibition event for the high school's music, art and drama departments. (Lacey Leader, 5/23/1973, pg.15)
