"Charley's Aunt" Play, 1973. These five black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a performance of "Charley's Aunt," a play. They show two men in tuxedos speaking to a young man dressed as an old woman, and two young women in long dresses speaking to the same young man dressed as an old woman. The young man dressed as an old woman is also smoking a cigar in these images. Image 16 shows the young man (Kent Beatty) dressed as an old woman with the cigar only about an inch from his mouth. The cigar is held in his right hand. One young man in a tuxedo is on either side of the young man dressed as an old woman. Image 17 is similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Beatty is looking over his left shoulder to look toward the young man on the right-hand side of the image. Image 18 is similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Beatty is turning his head toward his right and putting the cigar in his mouth. The young man on the right is speaking to Mr, Beatty and is gesturing with his left hand. Image 19 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved to their right slightly. Image 20 shows the same scene as the previous images, but here the photographer is looking down on the three actors. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 21 is very similar to the previous image, but this image is oriented vertically. Image 22 is very similar to image 21, but the photographer has panned slightly to their right. Image 23 shows two young women (Laura Hogge at left, Kathy Kohler at right) in long, Victorian-style dresses seated on the stage to each side of Mr. Beatty, who is seated in a wooden chair. This image is looking downward onto the actors. Image 24 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved to their right slightly. Images 25 and 26 are nearly identical to image 24. Image 27 shows the same scene as in the previous four images, but this image was captured from floor-level. Here Mr. Beatty is reaching his right arm behind the young woman to his right. The cigar is visible in his right hand. Image 28 is very similar to the previous image, but here the photographer has moved to their right approximately eight feet. Image 29 is also very similar to image 27, but here the photographer has moved to their left slightly. Image 30 is nearly identical to image 27. Image 31 shows a similar scene to the previous four images, but here the photographer has zoomed in slightly. Mr. Beatty has the cigar in his mouth and is reaching up to grab the cigar. Image 32 shows both Ms. Hogge and Ms. Kohler kissing Mr. Beatty on either cheek. Image 33 is very similar to image 32, but the photographer has panned upward slightly. Image 34 is very similar to the previous two images, but here the photographer has moved to their left slightly.
