Description

Architect Seuss and House, 1973. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a two-storey home with several tall coniferous trees growing near it, and a man posing for photos with the home. Image 43 shows the house. A tall coniferous tree growing near to the house is dividing the image vertically in half. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 44 is nearly identical to image 43, but this image is oriented vertically. Image 1 shows the house from further away. The house's driveway is extending from the right-hand side of the home and crossing the image diagonally to the bottom left corner of the image. This image is oriented horizontally. Image 2 is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented vertically. Image 3 is very similar to image 2, but here the photographer has panned downward slightly, making more of the ground visible. Image 4 shows a man with a mustache wearing a plaid shirt posing in front of the house. The man's mouth is closed, and he is squinting. Image 5 is very similar to the previous image, but the man appears to be speaking. Image 6 is nearly identical to image 5. Images 7 and 8 are very similar to image 4, but here the man has turned his head more toward the camera. Printed in alternation along one long edge of both of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."
