Description

Orville Armstrong, 1973. These two black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man in a suit and tie (Orville Armstrong) holding up a petition sheet for an initiative numbered 282. Image 10 shows Mr. Armstrong holding the petition up next to his head. He is looking over at the petition. Image 11 is similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Armstrong's head is turned slightly more toward the camera and his eyes are closed. Image 12 shows Mr. Armstrong looking over at the petition with a large smile on his face. Image 13 is very similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Armstrong is tipping his head upward more than in the previous image. Image 14 is very similar to the previous image, but Mr. Armstrong has his head tipping up even more. Images 15 and 16 are nearly identical to image 13. These images were created for inclusion in an article concerning Orville Armstong's work in support of Initiative 282. Initiative 282 dealt with limiting pay raises for state judges and legislators. (Lacey Leader, 6/20/1973, pg.1 &10) Printed in alternation along one long edge of these two film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."
