Coloring Contest Winner, 1976. These three black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two different children each posing with a differently-colored version of the same piece of art. Image 32 shows a child posing with their art piece. The child is occupying the left-hand side of the image, and is smiling. Their art piece is hanging on the wall behind them in the right-hand side of the image. Images 33 through 38 are nearly identical. Image 39 shows a little girl in a dress with unbraided pigtails tied with ribbons holding her piece of art in front of her torso. She is smiling and looking directly toward the camera. Images 40 through 43 are nearly identical to image 39.
These images show the winners of the coloring contest which the Lacey Leader put on during the Christmas season. The winners had their pictures printed in the Lacey Leader and also won a small prize. (Ken Balsley interview, 9/1/2017)
Printed in alternation along one long edge of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."Made/Created
