Chuck Barbo and Don Daniels, 1974. This single black and white film negative strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show two men (Chuck Barbo and Don Daniels) in suits and ties posing individually for portrait-style photos. Image 5 shows a man (Chuck Barbo) with glasses in a suit and paisley tie posing for a photo. His head and body are oriented slightly toward the left-hand side of the image frame. Images 6 and 7 are nearly identical to image 5. Image 8 shows a man (Don Daniels) in a plaid suit and patterned tie posing for photos. His head and body are oriented slightly toward the right-hand side of the image frame. He appears to be speaking. Image 9 is very similar to the previous image, but here Mr. Daniels is doing a closed-lipped smile. Image 10 is nearly identical to image 9.
Chuck Barbo and Don Daniels are best known for being early entrepreneurs in the self-storage rental business, and in real estate in general. Their chain of self-storage locations eventually became Shurgard, a major provider of self-storage services in the United States and Europe until it was purchased and absorbed by Public Storage in 2006.
