Description

George Upton, 1973. This single black and white film negative strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a man (George Upton) with a mustache in a suit and tie posing for photos in front of a concrete wall. Mr. Upton's shirt has a floral pattern on it. Image 32 shows Mr. Upton from the mid-chest up. He is facing directly toward the camera and he is not smiling. The image is oriented horizontally. Image 33 is very similar to the previous image, but this image is oriented vertically. More of the man's torso is visible in this image than in the previous image. Image 34 shows Mr. Upton with his head and body oriented toward the right-hand side of the image frame. He is looking toward the camera, and the image is oriented horizontally. Image 35 is very similar to the previous image, but Mr. Upton is smiling and the image is oriented vertically. These images were captured for inclusion in an article in the Lacey Leader newspaper concerning Mr. Upton's business Car 9 Auto Sales and Rentals. (Lacey Leader, 6/20/1973, pg.11)
