Description

Jane Comstock, 1973. This single black and white film negative strip was created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images show a young woman (Jane Comstock) posing for photos in a jacket with a patch on the breast pocket which reads "HORIZON CLUB." Image 20 shows Ms. Comstock with her head and body oriented toward the left-hand side of the image. She is laughing and looking toward the left-hand side of the image frame. The image is oriented vertically. Image 21 is very similar to the previous image, but here Ms. Comstock is looking toward the camera. This image is oriented horizontally. There is a seated person visible in the background of the image on the right-hand side. Image 22 is very similar to the previous image, but this image is oriented vertically. The Horizon Club referenced by the patch on Ms. Comstock's jacket was an organization for high-school aged girls in the Campfire Girls program. The group was founded in 1941. Printed in alternation along one long edge of both of these film negative strips is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."
