Description

Black and white photo of four individuals around an eye examination machine. On the left is a girl identified only as a North Thurston High School student. She has long dark hair and is wearing a flowered blouse. She is sitting in front of the machine. Standing next to her is a man identified as Neil Good, president of the Sunrise Lions Club. He has short dark hair and is wearing a white shirt over a white tee. He appears to be wearing a badge and has insignia of some sort on his collar. Sitting behind the machine is Nancy Ostrander, a school nurse. She has short dark hair and is wearing a dark sweater over a patterned blouse. Standing at the right is Dr. John Gott, NTSD superintendent. He has short dark hair and is wearing glasses. He has on a checked suit over a white shirt and a dark tie. The four are in what appears to be a school office with chairs, a typewriter, a filing cabinet and a blackboard. The machine is sitting on a table, and a cord is visible extending to the right. There is a white border on all sides. On the back in pencil is "l to r student n.t.h.s. Neil good Pres. Sunrise Lions Club Nancy Ostrander N.T. school dist. nurse Dr. John Gott NTSD Superintendent" and in ink "65%". A stamp in blank ink says "Evergreen Photography 2933 70th Ave. S. W. Tumwater, Wa 98501 (206) 943-5943". This image was probably published in the Lacey Leader newspaper.
