The man on the right has short dark hair and also has buttons, service ribbons, and a patch that says "IX" on his uniform. On his shoulder is what appears to be the rank insignia of Colonel. In the background is a U. S. flag and numerous ribbons with dates on them. There is also a cloth with portions of the words "United States" and the date "1776". There is a white border on all sides.
