Description

7 Unidentified People, 1974. These seven black and white film negative strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using many different film rolls, so many of the physical numbers on the strips are duplicated. For the purposes of this description, each of the strips will be grouped according to which film roll they originally came from by date. Each of these groups will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" are from 9-11-74. Image 15a shows two people, a man, wearing a suit and tie, and a woman. The man is Lud Kramer. Both of them are standing at a table inside a building. The woman is to the left and looking at the man in who is hunched over the table signing in. A third person is there to the left but only the hand can be seen. Image 16a is similar to Image 15a but the woman is now looking down at what the man is looking at. Image 17a is similar to Image 16a but woman is now hunched down over the table while the man has raised up slightly. The person out of frame is holding up a pamphlet. 18a shows the man sitting down at a voting booth. The man is facing left on the right and the booth is on the left. Image 19a is similar to Image 18a but the photographer has moving around to other side of the man and looking into the booth at an angle. Image is 20a is similar to Image 19a but the photographer has moved to the right slightly. Image 21a shows the man in the middle of the picture up from the booth, to the back left, looking a person sitting at a table between the man and the photographer. Image 22a is similar to Image 21a but the photographer has moved slightly to the left. Image 23a is similar to Image 22a but photographer has moved to the right and the man looks like he is talking to the person seated in front of him. Image 24a shows the man exiting the building, with one foot outside, left hand on a door knob, through a left double door. A flag of the United States of America is hanging over a window to the left. Image 25a is similar to Image 24a but the man has both feet outside. The photographer has moved down and to the left slightly. A support beam to the far left can be easily made out. Image 26a is similar to Image 24a but the picture is rotated 90 degrees to the right. Image 27a is similar to Image 24a but the photographer has moved to the left, closer to the window. A sign in the top left of the window reading "POLLING PLACE" can now be seen. The images in group "b" are from 10-23-74. Image 4b shows three men, the one on the right younger then the other two, standing around a counter inside with a jacket leaning on to a stand with a potted plant in it. A jar has been placed on the jacket. The man in the middle has a mustache while the man on the right has a mustache and glasses. The man on the right is holding on to an object on the counter with his right hand. A bell is on the far left of the counter. Image 5b is similar to 4b but photographer has moved down below the countertop a bit. The two men on the right and left are now smiling. Image is 6b is similar to 5b but the photographer has moved up again and all three men are now laughing. Image 7b is similar to 6b but all three men have stoped laughing. Image 8b is similar to Image 7b but the photographer has stepped back and all three men are smiling. The man on the right is looking towards the left. Image 9b is similar to Image 8b but the photographer has moved the camera closer and upward but tilted downward a bit. All three men have stoped smiling. Image 10b is similar to Image 9b but the young man on the left is smiling. Image 11b is similar to Image 10b but all three men are smiling again. The images in group "c" are from 10-30-74. Image 16c shows a group of eight kids outside, infront of a house around a dummy. In the front row is the dummy with two girls on either side of it. The next row has six kids, three girls holding three younger kids on their shoulders each. The dummy appears to be dressed up in winter clothes and is standing over a wooden object with the words, descending from the top "Made By" and a list of names. Image 17c is similar to image Image 16c but the girl on the left in the front row has turned her head and is looking in the direction of the dummy. Image 18c is similar to Image 17c but the girl on the left in the front row is now looking forward again. Image 19c shows a man on a television. The images in group "d" are from 11-6-74. Image 7d shows two men and a girl sat inside at the edge of a table. The man to the right is wearing glasses and is examining the girl on the left with what appears to an eyeglasses examining tool. The girl is also wearing glasses and has her hands up holding on to them. The man in the middle is just looking on. There is a box on the table holding more tools. Image 8d is similar to Image 7d but the photographer has moved down a bit. Image 9d is similar to Image 8d but the photographer has moved up, further than in Image 7d. Part of the box can be seen in and the man in the middle can be seen holding a tool in his right hand. Printed along the edge is "KODAK SAFETY FILM" and "KODAK TRI X PAN FILM."
