9 Unidentified People, 1973. These nine black and white contact photo strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using many different film rolls, so many of the physical numbers on the strips are duplicated. For the purposes of this description, each of the strips will be grouped according to which film roll they originally came from by date. Each of these groups will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etc.) to help differentiate between images.
The images in group "a" are from 10-13-73. Image 2a shows a man wearing a suit and a striped tie who is facing slightly to the right. Image 3a is similar to Image 2a but the man has turned his head to his right and looks to be in the middle of blinking. Image 4a is similar to Image 3a but the man is now facing slightly to the left.
The images in group "b" are from 10-13-73. Image 39b shows a woman wearing a striped and checkered shirt, looking to her right, and smiling. Image 40b is similar to Image 39b but the woman is looking slightly less to her right. Image 41b is similar to Image 40b but the woman has now tilted her head to her right and is looking at the photographer. Image 42b is similar to 41b but the woman has tilted her head to her left.
The images in group "c" are from 10-24-73. Image 9c shows a man wearing glasses, a striped shirt, and a tie who is facing slightly to the right. Image 10c is similar to Image 9c but the photographer has moved down slightly. Image 11c is similar to Image 10c but the man is now facing to the left.
The images in group "d" are from 10-24-73. Image 10d shows a man wearing a suit and a tie with medieval lion symbols on it, looking at the photographer, smiling. Image 11d is similar to Image 12d but the man's smile has faded a small bit. Image 12d is similar to Image 11 but the man is now facing slightly to the left. Image 13d is similar to Image 12d but the man is facing at the photographer.
The images in group "e" are from 10-24-73. Image 12e shows a man wearing a glasses, a robe, and a necklace, looking slightly to the right. Image 13e is similar to Image 12e but the man is looking the photographer and smiling. Image 14e is similar to Image 13e but the man is now facing even more rightward.
The images in group "f" are from 10-24-73. Image 12f shows a board with six panels arranged in a 3x2 pattern. In the top left corner of each panel is "HELVETIA", the Swiss Cross with "PTT" underneath it, and "SWISS POSTAL ADMINISTRATION." The top left panel has an enlarged postage stamp from 1960 showing a messenger from Fribourg holding a spear and letter. The top middle panel has several postage stamps from 1960 showing motifs from postal history and architectural monuments. The top right panel has an enlarged postage stamp from 1960 showing the city of Bern's clock tower on it. The bottom left panel has several postage stamps from 1961 to 1963. The bottom middle panel has several postage stamps from 1961 to 1966 showing architectural monuments and the Four Evangelists. The bottom right panel has several special memorial stamps from 1963 to 1966. Image 13f is similar to Image 12f but the photographer is looking at the board from an angle. Image 14f is similar to Image 13f but there is now a man sitting to the left of the board. The man is wearing a suit, a tie and glasses. The man is looking at the board. Image 15f is similar to Image 14f but the man has his left hand on the top of the board and is looking at the photographer. Image 16f is similar to 15f but now the man, who is smiling, can now be seen holding up the board. Image 17f is similar to 16f but the man is now smiling with his mouth closed.
The images in group "g" are from 10-24-73. Image 13g shows a woman wearing a necklace, smiling, and looking to her left. Image 14g is similar to 13g but the photographer has zoomed in on the woman's face. Image 15g is similar to Image 14g but the woman has turned to the right a bit. Image 16g is similar to Image 15g. Image 17g is similar to 16g.
The images in group "h" are from 10-24-73. Image 21h shows a man wearing a striped suit, tie, and American flag lapel pin looking at the photographer. Image 22h is similar to Image 21h but the man is now looking away from the photographer. Image 23h is similar to Image 22h but the photographer has moved back a bit.
