Description

Black and white photo of the Starrett House in Port Townsend, Washington. In the very foreground is a portion of an unpaved street and a sidewalk that goes from the street to off the right side of the image. Crossing that sidewalk at a 90 degree angle is another sidewalk and beginning at the intersection of the two sidewalks is a private walk at a 45 degree angle to the others that leads to steps with railings and a porch. The portion of the house that contains the porch is an octagonal dome of three stories with a roof that has small dormers with louvers and a roof-cap. On each side of the dome are three-story portions of the house with windows and wooden trim and scolops. There are double doors at the porch and windows in each face of the octagon. There is a small tree near the bottom of the image and a vine growing at the side of the house at the right. There is a portion of another house at the right of the image. There is a white border on all sides. On the back is printed "#296-14" and two pieces of paper pasted onto the print. One says "296-14 Historical Starrett House, Port Townsend Wash. State Dept. of Commerce photo" The other says "Please credit Washington State Department of Commerce and Economic Development General Administration Bldg. Olympia, Washington 98501".
