Description

Lacey School 2nd grade class from the 1920-1921 school year depicted in a black and white 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" photograph postcard. There are 51 students pictured. The front row is comprised of four boys and nine girls, the second row eight girls and one boy, the third row six boys and five girls, the fourth row eight boys, and the back row has ten boys. The group is pictured outside on the steps of the Lacey School. All students are standing. At the bottom of the image is written in white: "No 3750." A crease in the lower right corner has broken the emulsion layer causing a white diagonal line across the image. Pictured in this photo are the following students, beginning in the front row, left to right: Tessa Ross, Fred Daly, Donald Naismith, unknown student, _____ Brooks, Catherine Miller, Louise Koehler, Rose Nichols, Violet Larson, Bessie Yates, Iona Easton, unknown student, and Helen Huntamer. In the second row: Unknown student, Bertha Muzatko, Marie Dow, unknown student, May Gillis, Edith Ball, Anna Danell, Eva Schuffert and an unknown student. In the third row: Two unknown students, Margarate Reinhart, Linnea Peterson, Clarence Reaves, Phoevie Greenman, Mabel Russell, two unknown students, Herman Hannge, and John Lockwood. In the fourth row: Two unknown students, Theodor ______, Melvin Heusman, Albert Bowker, Clarence Robbins, unknown student, Bill Kohten and Harrison Travis. In the fifth, or back, row: Three unknown students, Harold Skinner, Eroll Mattson, Clifford Radcliff, Elvin Reeves, Alex Muzatko, Alvin Smith and an unknown student. On the reverse is a pre-printed postcard with the words "POST CARD" at top left and below in smaller letters: "CORRESPONDENCE" at the left and "ADDRESS" at the right. In the upper right corner is a square which inside reads: "PLACE STAMP HERE" and the stamp area border is created by the word "AZO" with triangles stamped in the corner. In the upper right corner is written in pencil: "neg #3502" presumably by museum staff. On the right edge, written vertically in pencil is: "2 grade 1921"
