Description

Lacey School 3rd grade class from the 1922-1923 school year depicted in a brown-toned black and white 5" x 7"photograph. There is an embossed (raised border) and the image within is oval-shaped. There are 32 students pictured. The front row is comprised of ten girls, the second row six girls and five boys, the third row nine boys and the back row has two boys. The group is pictured outside on the steps of the Lacey School. All students are standing. At the bottom of the image is written in white cursive: "Lacey Wash, Jan. 1923" Pictured in this photo are the following students, beginning in the front row, left to right: Marie Dow, unknown student, Elsie Huntamer, Cleo Gillis, an unknown student, Verna Day, Ruth Heusman, Marie Bowker, and two unknown students. In the second row: Unknown student, Frank Daley, two unknown students, James Levesque, Gertrude Kramer, Violet Day, and four unknown students. In the third row: Harold Yates, Jack Mullen, two unknown students, Thomas Huntamer, Clifford Radcliffe, Clarence Robbins, Archie Watson and an unknown student. In the fourth row: Two unknown students. On the reverse in the upper right corner is written in pencil: "neg #3501" presumably by museum staff. On the right edge, written vertically in pencil is: "3 grade 1923 Ruth first row, 4th from left." In the lower right, written horizontally is the note: "Ruth Heusman 7th in Front."
