Lacey School 5th grade class from the 1927-1928 school year depicted in a black and white 4.75" x 6.5" photograph with a border on the bottom edge. There are 50 students and one teacher pictured. The front row is comprised of sixteen boys, the second row sixteen girls, the third row five girls and six boys and the back row has seven boys. The teacher, Miss Olga Ryan, is standing to the right of the back row. The group is pictured outside in front of the Lacey School. The students are facing forward. The first row of students is sitting on the bottom step and the remaining rows are standing on the steps. The top third of the image show the architecture of the school including the brick columns and the windows and doors beyond. At the bottom left of the image is written in white: "5519." Handwritten along the bottom right edge in black ink is: "1928 5th."
Pictured in the front row, left to right: Kenneth Mayes, unknown student, Willard Miller, Edgar Morris, two unknown students, Earl Prichard, Jim Southwick, unknown student, Dick Levesque, two unknown students, Ford Mullen, and three unknown students. In the second row: three unknown students, Margaret Dent, Florence Ulery, an unknown student, Julia Shrewberry, eight unknown students and Margaret Miller. In the third row: seven unknown students, George Bowker and three unknown students. In the fourth row: five unknown students, George Amams and Miss Olga Ryan.
On the back of the photo, in the upper right corner is written in pencil: "#1630" (also in the upper left corner) and below this "1994-048" presumably by museum staff. There are many accretions present due to this photograph having been removed from a photo album. Visible at right is a studio stamp. It appears to be from Perkins Studio, which can be seen on other Lacey School photos.Made/Created
