There are eight columns supporting a roof over a porch. In front of the porch are stone steps and side walls upon which are large metal and glass lamps. Above the roof is a gable and a flat portion that has inscribed the words "Insurance Building". On the side of the building are two stories of windows There are evergreen shrubs and trees around the building. A portion of another building is visible in the left background. In the foreground is a parking area with numerous vehicles, and a portion of lawn with two wooden barriers. There is a white border on all sides. On the back is a pasted-on paper that has typed "No. 10-5 The Insurance Building on the Washington State Capitol campus. --Washington State Travel Photo".
