Lacey kitchen band depicted in a black and white 3.5" x 5" photograph. There are seven women in uniform with instruments fashioned from household items. They are pictured outside in front of a flat bed truck. The women are wearing similar skirts, suit jackets and embellished fronts to appear as though they are in band uniforms. They are wearing hats made of tin cans. Five women are standing in back and one is squatting in front. The woman in front has a wash tub sitting on its side in front of her. Instruments in the back row include a "tuba", "trumpets", and "cymbals." One woman appears to be holding a broom as though it's a drum major baton.
The donor provided a list of women in the Lacey Kitchen Band, but the individuals are not specifically identified according to the photo. They are: Carol Van Slyke, Hazel Hoffman, Grace Dent, Marie McNamara, Martha Bowker, Alma Watkins, Margarete McKibbin, and Ollie Foy.Made/Created
