The building has ends that are at right angles to each other with the center part stretching between the two. There are four stories of windows with a smaller portion making a fifth story with a mast on top with a communication dish attached. There are evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs around the bottom of the building and behind it. At the left, a portion of a house and another building is visible. In the foreground is an expanse of lawn with concrete stairs between a parking area and the building. There is a curved driving area with a curved side walk and parking spaces. One vehicle is parked. There are lamp posts and a wooden sign near the stairs. There is a white border on all sides. On the back is a pasted-on paper that has typed "No. 10-3 The Public Lands Building on the Washington State Capitol campus. --Washington State Travel Photo".
