Description

Black and white photo of the General Administration Building on the Washington State Capitol campus. The building has four stories. At the lower level is a wide porch-like area with walls and planters around some of the edges. People are sitting or standing in the area. From the porch, steps lead down to a sidewalk and then to a street. There are shrubs and trees visible around the bottom of the building and across the street in the immediate foreground. Behind the porch is an entrance with many glass doors and at the left and right of the image are windows. At the left of the image is a portion of the building that extends forward and has a flat face with a metal image of the state seal with an image of George Washington in the center. The remainder of the building above the first floor has alternate horizontal rows of molded concrete and windows on each floor. there is a flag pole on top of the building and a smaller portion of another floor. There is a white border on all sides with the top and bottom border being larger. On the back in ink is "8-6". On a pasted-on paper is typed "No. 8-6 The main entrance of the General Administration Building on the Washington State Capitol campus. --Washington State Travel Photo". A stamp says "Please credit Washington State Department of Commerce and Economic Development General Administration Bldg. Olympia, Washington 98501".
