Description

Miscellaneous Pictures, 1976. These seven black and white contact print strips were created for the Lacey Leader newspaper. These images were created using several separate film rolls, so some of the physical numbers of the strips are repeated. For the purposes of this description, these strips will be grouped according to the film roll from which they originally came. Each of these groups will be assigned a lower-case letter to go along with the physical numbers on the strips (ex: 1a, 2a, 3a, 1b, 2b, 3b, etd.) to help differentiate between images. The images in group "a" show close-up shots of various objects and a human eye. Image 30a shows two pens laying on top of a typed document. Image 31a shows many paperclips. Image 32a shows a portion of a computer or typewriter keyboard. Image 32a shows a cup holder or drinking glass with pens in it. Image 33a shows an object which resembles two car tires linked together at the center with a belt or ribbon extending off of the right-hand half of the object. Image 34a shows the stems and leaves of a plant. Image 36a shows what appears to be a clump of hair. Image 37a shows a human left eye and a portion of the surrounding face. Image 38a shows a portion of a map of Lacey. Pacific Avenue is cutting through the center of the map. Image 39a shows the same or a similar map. Second Chambers Lake is visible near the bottom-left corner of this image. Image 40a shows one houseplant very near to the camera, and a second smaller houeplant in the background. Image 41a shows an open book of matches. Image 42a shows the same book of matches turned upside down. Image 43a shows the same or a similar map to that seen in images 38a and 39a. It reads "Lacey" above and to the left of the center of the image. Image 44a shows a yarn puffball. The images in group "b" show various scenes at the edge of a body of water. Image 8b shows a seagull perched atop a barnacle-covered piling sticking out of the mud at the water's edge. Several other similar pilings are visible in the image. Image 9b is nearly identical to image 8b. Image 10b shows what appears to be the same seagull perched atop the same piling, but from a different angle. Here the piling the seagull is perched upon is in a row with several other pilings which extends away from the camera. This image is oriented vertically. Image 11b is very similar to the previous image, but here the image is oriented horizontally. Image 12b is very similar to the previous image, but here the shot is centered on the seagull. Image 13b shows the Washington State Capitol Building visible in the background through some barnacle-covered pilings. The images in group "c" show a classroom and a construction site. Image 32c shows a classroom with the desk chairs up on top of the desks. Image 33c shows the classroom's blackboard. Image 34c shows a close-up of one of the desk chairs up on top of a desk. Image 34c shows a tall, rectangular building under construction. Two people and a stack of lumber are visible on the building's roof. Image 36c shows two people working at a construction site. The two people are visible between bare wall studs. The images in group "d" show bubbles and a person blowing bubbles. Image 17d shows a transparent bubble floating in front of a section of lattice. Image 18d shows a transparent bubble floating in front of some evergreen trees. Image 19d shows a person in a sweatsuit blowing bubbles. Image 20d is nearly identical to image 19d.
